DRC is currently looking for a highly qualified Humanitarian Disarmament and Peacebuilding Coordinator (Humanitarian Mine Action) to join our team in Kyiv.
About the job:
As the Humanitarian Disarmament and Peacebuilding (HDP) Coordinator (Humanitarian Mine Action (HMA)), you will play the role of HMA sub-sector lead within the Programmes Department, alongside the Peacebuilding sub-sector lead and other core sector leads for Protection, Economic Recovery and Shelter & Settlements. Within this role, the HDP HMA Coordinator contributes to strategy development for HMA programming within Ukraine as a whole, including through contributing to plans for multi-sector programming and using direct implementation and partnership modalities. The HDP HMA Coordinator plays a supporting role to the Head of Programme in external representation, particularly for the purposes of business development, supports proposal development and aspects of Reporting Quality Assurance for donor and internal reporting. The HDP HMA Coordinator is the key technical bridge to the HMA staff in the Operations Team responsible for delivering secured grants.
Your main responsibilities will be:
Programme Strategy
- Guiding development of HMA components into country-level sector strategies with input from HMA delivery staff
- Coordinating with other core sectors on cross-sector programme planning and implementation (Protection, Economic Recovery, Shelter & Settlements, Peacebuilding), in close collaboration with the Head of Programme and other sector leads
External Engagement (Coordination & Fundraising)
- Liaising with the UN system at the national level for operational coordination and best practice on HMA
- Liaising with donors at the national level
- Acting as focal point for all donor engagement on HDP programming
Business Development
- Acting as focal point for all fundraising initiatives for HMA programming
- Developing and contributing to concept note and proposal, particularly in view of multi-sector project proposals
Project Development
- Review / Quality Assurance of technical inputs from HMA delivery staff for multi-sector proposals in collaboration with grants management teams
- Review of proposal narrative inputs for donor funding from inputs from HMA delivery staff in collaboration with grants management teams
- Review of proposal budget input for donor funding from inputs from HMA delivery staff
Technical Programme Support
- Supporting integration of HMA with other sectors through HMA advice and support to Head of Programme (including through co-attendance at meetings)
- Interfacing with HMA Country Programme Manager (e.g. to facilitate engagement on strategy, Business Development, Programme Development, etc.)
- Interfacing with HMA Opeartions Manager to ensure knowledge on HMA technical standards travels into Programmes Department
About you
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have at least 3-5 years of experience working in HMA in a technical or management capacity.
Moreover, we also expect the following:
- Demonstrated experience working with both humanitarian and development donors such as BHA, SIDA, USAID, the EU, ECHO, the UN and others
- Bachelor's degree in international relations, social work, law or another relevant field
- Knowledge of and experience with DRC’s program sectors in Ukraine (e.g. protection, shelter and settlements, and economic recovery) an asset
- Previous proven experience in programs implemented through direction implementation, experience in partnership management an asset
- Proven experience in capacity building and training of national staff
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft office
- Full professional proficiency in English
